1. Scope of this Policy

This policy applies to information collected through our website, web application, learning-preference questionnaires, and personalized learning plan generation features. It explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored and protected, and your rights regarding your information.

2. Information Provided by Parents or Legal Guardians

When a parent or legal guardian creates an account or interacts with HomeschoolPLP, we collect the following parent information:

• Parent Full Name: Collected upon account registration to personalize your parent dashboard.
• Parent Email Address: Used as your primary account identifier, for authentication, password recovery, customer support, and delivery of transaction receipts.
• Account Credentials: Passwords are handled and securely hashed by Supabase authentication services. HomeschoolPLP application code does not have access to users’ plaintext passwords.

3. Student Information Collected

To generate personalized curriculum recommendations and customized learning plans, parents provide limited student profile information:

• Student First Name or Nickname: Used solely to label the learning plan and match reports.
• Student Grade Level: Used to filter curricula by grade-level eligibility (e.g., TK through Grade 12).
• State or Region (Optional): An optional field for general geographic context. Selecting or omitting a state does not restrict or alter curriculum recommendation scoring.
• Parent Notes or Accommodations (Optional): Free-form text notes provided at the parent’s discretion regarding a student’s learning style, interests, or schedule.

To protect student privacy and uphold data minimization principles, HomeschoolPLP intentionally does not collect or store:

5. Quiz Responses & Generated Learning Plans

When a parent or authorized student completes our learning-preference questionnaire, we collect:

• Question Responses: Multiple-choice selections regarding learning preferences, instructional formats, and structure.
• Computed Profile Attributes: Deterministically calculated learning style scores (e.g., visual, hands-on, independence preference).
• Generated Learning Plans: Saved curriculum recommendations, core subject selections, and supplemental materials.

6. Authentication & Account Management (Supabase)

User authentication and database hosting are provided by Supabase Inc. Passwords are handled and securely hashed by Supabase authentication services. HomeschoolPLP application code does not have access to users’ plaintext passwords. Credential verification and session token issuance occur through secure HTTPS connections.

Optional Google Sign-In: If you choose to authenticate using Google OAuth, Google shares your verified email address and account display name with Supabase to facilitate login. We do not receive access to your Google contacts, Google Drive files, or other private Google account data.

7. Payment Processing (Stripe Integration)

Paid plan generations and curriculum-matching assessments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc.

We retain only standard transaction confirmation metadata provided by Stripe, including Stripe session and payment intent IDs, purchase amount, payment status, and timestamp.

8. Cookies, Tracking & Technical Metadata

Strictly Necessary Authentication Cookies: We use standard authentication session cookies provided by Supabase to maintain parent authentication sessions while you navigate the site. These cookies are strictly necessary for the application to function.

No Third-Party Advertising Trackers: HomeschoolPLP does not use advertising cookies, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Analytics, behavioral tracking scripts, or session-recording tools.

Locally Hosted Fonts: Typography fonts (Inter) are downloaded and hosted locally at application build time, ensuring your browser does not connect to external third-party font servers.

Technical Logs: Our web servers temporarily process standard technical request metadata (such as IP addresses and browser user-agent headers) strictly for network transmission, DDoS defense, and server security.

9. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively for the following legitimate purposes:

• Operating the curriculum matching engine and generating personalized learning plans.
• Managing your parent account and saving your student profiles for future review.
• Processing one-time curriculum-matching assessment transactions and providing customer billing receipts.
• Responding to customer support inquiries and technical assistance requests.
• Protecting the security, integrity, and operational availability of our service.

10. Email & Communications Policy

No Marketing Emails: HomeschoolPLP does not send promotional newsletters, marketing broadcasts, or commercial email solicitations.

We only send essential, service-related communications, such as account confirmation links, password reset requests, purchase receipts, critical security notices, and direct replies to your customer support messages.

11. Third-Party Service Providers & Outbound Links

We share information with service providers only as strictly necessary to operate our service:

• Supabase Inc.: Cloud database storage and user authentication infrastructure.
• Stripe, Inc.: Payment processing and billing verification.
• Google LLC: Optional federated single sign-on authentication (if elected by the user).

Outbound Curriculum Publisher Links: Our directory and match recommendations include direct hyperlinks to third-party curriculum publishers for parent research. These are currently ordinary outbound links without affiliate tracking parameters. If any compensated or affiliate links are introduced in the future, they will be clearly disclosed near the relevant content.

12. No Sale of Personal Information

Personalized Learning Partners LLC does not sell, rent, license, or trade your personal information or student data to any third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

13. Data Retention Policy

We retain your account profile, student profiles, questionnaire responses, and generated learning plans to allow you ongoing access through your parent portal.

Three-Year Inactivity Policy: Inactive accounts and associated data may be deleted after three years of inactivity.

14. Account & Data Deletion Requests

Users may request deletion of their parent account, student profiles, quiz responses, and learning plans at any time by emailing help@homeschoolplp.com.

30-Day Completion Target: Verified deletion requests will be completed within 30 days of receipt.

Retention Exceptions: Deletion applies to active account data. Certain records may be retained as required for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute, or payment-record requirements.

15. Data Security & Technical Controls

We implement industry-standard technical safeguards to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of all data in transit using Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/TLS).
• PostgreSQL Row Level Security (RLS) enforcing strict user-boundary data isolation.
• Cryptographically secure SHA-256 hashing for optional public plan-sharing tokens with automatic expiration.

While we maintain rigorous security protocols, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely infallible; therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

16. Parent-Managed Accounts & Children’s Privacy

HomeschoolPLP is designed for and directed to parents and legal guardians. Students must not create accounts independently.

Parents or legal guardians maintain complete control over the registration, student profile creation, and questionnaire inputs. If we discover that an unsupervised minor has created an account without parent authorization, we will promptly delete the account upon notice.

17. Geographic Availability (United States Only)

HomeschoolPLP is intended solely for users located within the United States. Our services and curriculum catalog are tailored exclusively to US homeschool curricula and state educational standards. We do not knowingly offer services to individuals residing in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other international jurisdictions.

18. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, or Florida), you may have specific statutory rights regarding personal information, including the right to request access to the categories or specific pieces of personal information collected, request correction of inaccurate data, and request deletion of personal information.

19. Policy Updates & Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When updates occur, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy and publish the updated version on our website.
